Spring 2023 Sweet Tuesday Groups:

Blessed - Experiencing the Promise of the Book of Revelation by Nancy
Guthrie

Led by Rita Soderberg and Kathy Sasseville via Zoom,

and by Liz Hanlon in person.

This study will require a commitment of time each week as you prepare for the lesson.

Blessed covers the full text of the book of Revelation, exploring its call to patient endurance as God’s sovereign plans for judgment and salvation are worked out in the world.
This book shows that Revelation is less about when Jesus will return and
more about who we are to be, what we are to do, and what we can
expect to endure as we wait for Jesus to return to establish his kingdom
in the new creation.
With a friendly and engaging tone, Blessed takes the fear, intimidation,
and confusion away from studying Revelation, providing a solid and
accessible resource that individuals and small groups can use to study this important yet often avoided book.

Because the videos are 60-70 minutes long, our Tuesday Zoom class will
begin at 9:00 and end between 10:45 – 11:00. (The in-person group will meet during the regular Sweet Tuesday time and watch the videos as homework.)

The Good and Beautiful God by James Bryan Smith

Falling in love with the God Jesus knows.

Led by Pinky Rines.

"God wants me to try harder." "God blesses me when I'm good and punishes me when I'm bad." "God is angry with me."

We all have ideas we tell ourselves about God and how he works in our lives. Some are true--but many are false. Those thoughts determine not only who we are, but how we live.

In this study, you are invited to put your ideas to the test to see if they match up with what Jesus himself reveals about God. Once you've discovered the truth in Scripture, you can engage in a process of spiritual formation that includes specific activities aimed at making these new narratives real in your body and soul as well as your mind.

This deep, loving, and transformative book will help you discover the narratives that Jesus lived by--to know the Lord he knew and the kingdom he proclaimed--and to practice spiritual exercises that will help you grow in the knowledge of our good and beautiful God.

Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg

Led by Joanne Gamache

What would it be like to journey back to the first century and sit at the feet of Rabbi Jesus as one of his Jewish disciples? How would your understanding of the gospel have been shaped by the customs, beliefs, and traditions of the Jewish culture in which you lived? Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus takes you on a fascinating tour of the Jewish world of Jesus, offering inspirational insights that can transform your faith. It will change the way you read Scripture and deepen your understanding of the life of Jesus. It will also help you to adapt the rich prayers and customs you learn about to your own life, in ways that both respect and enrich your Christian faith. By looking at the Jewishness of Jesus, you will journey into the heart of Judaism, giving you a better understanding and appreciation of your own faith.
